Best Buy's "Intranet"
I came across the article below which discussed Best Buy's internal website that is only accessible in stores. So what's the big deal? It's great that they've allowed customers to check out specials that they found online at home, at the stores, right? Well the thing is, the internal Best Buy website is DIFFERENT from bestbuy.com you access from home. Different prices, different specials, etc.
This is horrible for customers and Best Buy's customer relationship management (CRM) for the fact that a customer may come in to a brick and mortar store with a price in mind that they found online, only to find out that the price is different in the store than what they saw online. So, the confused customer chooses to get "online" at one of the in store computers to verify the price that they saw online. But, that price turns out to be more expensive than what they saw at home, and give in and pay the higher prices.
